About

Hi there – thanks for stopping by my photography portfolio. My name’s Tim Jameson.

I remember the day I first picked up my dad’s old Konica SLR (circa 1984). I was both intrigued and fascinated by the opportunities it provided; expressions of life and the world could be framed and captured in the mere blink of an eye. This quickly lead to me devouring photography books, learning the theory behind the art.

In my teenage years I was able to purchase my first Canon SLR, churning through rolls of film as I experimented with viewpoints and camera settings. I’m never happy with just taking ‘normal’ photographs. I’d rather take time seeking out alternative angles and lighting styles, which I think comes across in my project work.

I’d describe myself as a hobbyist photographer with professional skills. I decided not to pursue photography as a profession, but that was only because there’s not time to do everything! Many people do however engage me to shoot special events e.g. weddings, launch parties etc.

In terms of the equipment I use, I’m a Canon man with a variety of lenses and lighting equipment. I also use the (fantastic!) new Fujifilm X100 for street and on-the-move photography.
